The Education Ministry, during the 18th General Chapter, provided in one of its Key Directions the putting up of a Learning Resource Center in every region. It is envisioned that the Learning Resource Center will provide books, and other print materials, multi-media and online resources to meet various administrative, academic, curricular and instructional needs.
The Region of Luzon-EMC has responded to this with the opening of its Learning Resource Center on May 30, 2009 during the year-beginning orientation of the region. The Center is open from 8AM to 12NN and 1–4PM Monday through Saturday except holidays. It is located at the 2nd floor of the M. Ignacia Ladies Dormitory, RVM Regional House, Singalong, Manila.
The Administrators and Faculty of the RVM Schools , as well as visiting researchers from other Non-RVM schools, colleges and universities, may use the Center. Since the Center can accommodate only a limited number of users at a time (at least four), advance reservation of at least one or two days is recommended. All materials found in the Center are to be used inside the center only. However, users are allowed to photocopy some pages of the books or periodical journals at a minimal cost. The Centeradapts the open shelves system allowing users free access and scanning/ browsing of available materials on the shelves. Electronic resources are also available. Internet is available for research only and printing of research document is not allowed in the center. CD/DVD resources are available in a closed shelf system. These materials may be accessed and viewed only with the assistance of the learning resource in-charge.
