Triduum of Masses - 262nd Death Anniversary of Mother Ignacia del Espiritu Santo

First Day: September 7, 2010, Tuesday
Homily by: Fr. Karel S. San Juan, SJ

When did you feel called by our Lord? When did you feel called by our Lord by name?

In our Gospel today, Jesus, after a night of silence and prayer, calls his disciples, and from them, chooses twelve. He calls them by name: Simon, Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Tomas, James, Simon, Judas, and Judas Iscariot. After choosing and calling, Jesus, with his disciples, continued his ministry of preaching and healing. He continued to attract multitudes, drawn to his power of teaching and healing.

Second Day: September 8, 2010, Wednesday
Mass Presider: Fr. Primitivo "Jun" Viray, SJ
Ateneo de Manila University
Loyola Heights, Q.C.

Third Day: September 9, 2010, Thursday
Homily by: Fr. Abunjo "JayR" Babor, MSC

Good morning dear sisters. We have this triduum of Masses to celebrate the 262nd death anniversary of Mother Foundress Mother Ignacia. This third day of the triduum we focus on the theme of ‘CHARITY’ and how to live it in the spirit of Mother Ignacia. Since my high school years I have become very familiar with the narrative of the life of Mother Ignacia. In particular, in one of the stories of Mother Ignacia’s life, I heard from our RVM sisters (at Infant King Academy, Negros Oriental) about her exemplary witnessing of the virtue of charity. It’s lucidly explained today in one of the books that I’ve read that those who followed Mother Ignacia were very much inspired by her example of “charity in speech and action so much so that their community became a shining witness of Christian love.” (A Lamp to Our Path, p. 56).

Anniversary Day: September 10, 2010, Friday
Mass Presider: Fr. Franklin Beltran, OP
Parish Priest
Santissimo Rosario Parish
University of Sto. Tomas
