Remembering, Thanksgiving and Celebrating: A Grace-Filled 50 Years of Ignacian Legacy
“Come and see what the Lord has done;
wondrous are the deeds of His love.” (Ps. 66)
“Come, let us give thanks to the Heart of all hearts;
giving praise for the unlimited gifts of love.” (Ps. 104)
Jubilees are wonderful occasions with significant purposes. For Betania Retreat House, this Golden Jubilee is an opportunity to: understand and be grateful for its history; reflect on God’s bounty, its joys and challenges as a ministry; move forward and make new choices; revisit some practices in relation to its vision of accompanying our retreatants to an inner conversion; and be a source of newness for the Congregation, the Church and the society.
As a Congregation, we take pride in the 50 fruitful years of this retreat house, made possible through the dedication and commitment of many sisters, priests, benefactors, retreat promoters, and partners who built and developed Betania Retreat House for what it is today. It is, certainly, a joy to celebrate the gift of persons, whose lives made the countless steps in the golden journey of BRH, Quezon City. Indeed, fired by our passion for God’s mission and fidelity to the prime heritage of Venerable Ignacia del Espiritu Santo, Betania Retreat House, Quezon City continues today its commitment to this Ignacian legacy---with vibrancy, constancy and creativity. With joyful hope, we look forward to the future of this retreat house, touched and blest with God’s love beyond imagining…for another 50 years!
With God’s grace, we pray for Betania Retreat House to continue the ministry: sharing the richness of the Spiritual Exercises, respond to the needs of the retreatants for deeper prayer life and religious experience and offer them a place of contemplation and solitude.
May the essence of today’s Solemnity of Pentecost, bless Betania Retreat House with more years of life-giving presence and committed service, in fidelity to our Ignacian prime heritage and legacy!
