School Year 2002 – 2003 was ushered in by so much anxiety on the part of the Administrators because of the implementation of the 2002 Basic Education Curriculum in the Public Schools.  The Private Schools however were given the option to defer the implementation.  Even as we defer the implementation of the said curriculum, the Commission on Education of the RVM Congregation conducted Seminar-Workshops nationwide beginning from the Sisters and Lay Administrators, Teachers and to the Support personnel on the 2002 Basic Education Curriculum.

Teachers were also sent to attend Seminar-Workshops in connection with the new curriculum conducted by the Public School.

The teachers and staff participated actively in the reformulation and articulation of OLFA’s Vision-Mission in line with the Congregations Vision-Mission. The Regional Superintendent, S. Ma. Rufina B. Guillano, RVM facilitated the seminar-workshop.

To update administrators and would be administrators the RVM Commission on Education conducted seminar-workshops on Instructional Leadership by Regions given on three (3) separate dates.  The following attended on the said seminars.

On June 13, 2002,  S. Ma. Teresita C. Camartin, RVM was installed as the Servant-Leader / Principal of OLFA by S. Ma. Rafaela Q. Singzon, RVM, Regional Servant-Leader.

The first Batch of graduates, Batch 1951 – 1952, led by Mrs. Maria Rueda celebrated their Golden Jubilee, and Batch 1976 – 1977 led by Mr. Renato Badilla their silver Jubilee on August 25 2002 which was also the Alumni Homecoming.

Teachers were also updated.  On September 20, 2003, the teachers attended the seminar Workshop on Classroom Management and Lesson Planning held in CAWASI, TaclobanCity, organized by RVM Commission on Education.

In response to the Holy Father’s call of dedicating as the Holy Rosary Year from October 2002 to October 2003, the Holy Rosary was prayed daily every before the first subject in the morning.

The Faculty / Staff annual retreat was held at the San Damiano Retreat House, Libertad, Palo, Leyte with Rev. Fr. Leroy Geli as facilitator on November 21 to 23, 2002.

Two batches of Parents’ Recollection was facilitated by Rev. Fr. Venancio Amidar. Third Year and fourth Year Parents’ Recollection was conducted on October 19, 2002 and the First Year and Second Year Parents’ Recollection on November 30, 2002.

Two computer units were bought, one for the office of the Principal and the other one was placed at the econome’s office.

St. Mary’s Academy, Sto. Niño, Meycauayan, Bulacan donated a Genstener Mimeographing Machine.  May the Lord bless them.

For security and safety of the students iron grills were attached to the following glass walls:  CL Office, Science and Laboratory, Guidance Office, SAC Office, Cashier and the Registrars Office.

Seventy three (73) students graduated last March 22, 2002 with Rev. Fr. Venancio L. Amidar as Presider and Homilist.
