PERIODIC AWARDS

 Students who excel in their academic performance every grading period are awarded the following:

  • FIRST GRADING PERIOD - Prelims
  • First Honors are awarded to students whose average is 1.5 or above and have no grade lower than 1.8 in any subject.

    Second Honors are awarded to students whose average is 1.6 or above and have no grades lower than 1.9 in any subject.

    Third Honors are awarded to students whose average is 1.8 or above and have no grades lower than 2.0 in any subject.

  • SECOND GRADING PERIOD - Midterm
  • First Honors are awarded to students whose average is 1.3 or above and have no grade lower than 1.6 in any subject.

    Second Honors are awarded to students whose average is 1.4 or above and have no grade lower than 1.7 in any subject.

    Third Honors are awarded to students whose average is 1.6 or above and have no grade lower than 1.8 in any subject.

  • THIRD GRADING PERIOD - Finals
  • First Honors are awarded to students whose average is 1.0 or above and have no grade lower than 1.2 in any subject.

    Second Honors are awarded to students whose average is 1.3 or above and have no grade lower than 1.5 in any subject.

    Third Honors are awarded to students whose average is 1.5 or above and have no grade lower than 1.7 in any subject.

    To qualify for honor, the student should have a load of at least 18 units including Theology and P.E.

GRADUATION HONORS and DISTINCTIONS for DEGREE PROGRAMS

Graduating students are awarded honors according to the following criteria:

The student must have shown exemplary conduct indicative of strong moral values.  He/She must have participated in some extra or co-curricular activities of the school and community service.

A candidate for graduation honors should complete a minimum 75% of the regular subjects of the program or course in school, which will award the degree or diploma.

The graduation honors and distinction awarded to the student shall be as follows:

    SUMMA CUM LAUDE is awarded to a student whose average for four years is 1.0 and has no grade lower than 1.2 in any subject.

    MAGNA CUM LAUDE is awarded to a student whose average for four years is 1.3 or above and has no grade lower than 1.5 in any subject.

    CUM LAUDE is awarded to a student whose average for four years is 1.5 or above and has no grade lower than 2.0 in any subject.

OTHER GRADUATION AWARDS

    MOTHER IGNACIA DEL ESPIRITU SANTO (MIDES) AWARD - The highest award given by the college to a graduating student who is outstanding from the point of scholastic achievement, leadership and responsibility and Christian social consciousness and thus have learned to personalize the college objectives.

    Criteria:

    Academic Performance -  has an average of 90% from first to fourth year and has no grade lower than 82% in any subject.

    Achievements – must have received awards/honors or recognition for excellent performance in both academic and non-academic areas during his/her stay in school.

    Exemplary Conduct – must not be guilty of misconduct and/or other disciplinary matters.

    Active Leadership – must be a leader as recognized by the administration, faculty and the students.

    Loyalty – must have constant respect and adherence to the objectives of the school, as well as to school authorities, faculty and students and upholds and defends the good name of the institution.

      Criteria for selection:

           Academic Performance                         50%

           Achievements                                    20%

                 Conduct and Loyalty                           20%

                 Residence of at least 3 years               10%

    LOYALTY AWARD – this is given to graduates who have been continuously enrolled in any RVM school since first year high school.

NON-ACADEMIC AWARDS (Gold Medal)

    ATHLETE OF THE YEAR – this award is given to an outstanding student athlete of the school who has displayed diligence, discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship for a period of at least three (3) consecutive years.  He/She must have no dropped subject or failing grades.

    AWARD FOR SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE – this award is given to a student who excels in some specific performance.  He/She must have high scholastic achievement and of good moral standing.
