STUDENT COUNCIL

The Student council of St. Mary’s College as the highest organization in the college, shall serve as liaison between the student body as a whole and the college administration. It shall have the following prerogatives and jurisdictions.

  •  To act as the official representative of the student body of the college;
  • To serve as medium of voicing student opinions;
  • To propose measures for the uplift of the academic standard of the students; promote, encourage and develop intelligent self-sacrificing leadership, moral character, personal discipline and active participation in school affairs;
  • To promote the interests of students and assist the college in the fulfillment of its established goals and objectives.

The college administration shall not deal with any organization other than the Student Council in matters affecting welfare and interest of the entire student body.

STUDENT SERVICES  

       The College holds that the greatest responsibility for a student growth lies with the student himself. to foster this growth various resources are available to the student.

   SPIRITUAL SERVICES

     Each student at St. Mary’s College is encouraged to avail opportunities for a more enriching spiritual life.  A variety of liturgical activities are planned and supervised by the Religious Education Coordinator.  Retreats, Recollections, group discussion, private consultation, masses on First Friday and Feast days observed by the school and confession are part of the college liturgical program.  Membership to liturgical Committee is open to students who are interested.

     GUIDANCE SERVICES

     The guidance Program is built around the premise that each is an individual, whose problem and needs are to be met by individual attention and understanding.  It is designed to assist every student to assimilate values, formulate goals, execute plans and evaluate his efforts towards self actualization.  Academic and personal counseling, vocational guidance and testing are available at any time.

     HEALTH SERVICES

     All students are given a physical and dental examination once a year.  The college physician and dentist hold office hours at the appointed time in the clinic.

     FOOD SERVICES AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES

     The school maintains a canteen to meet the needs of the students.  A bookstore corner with school supplies is available within the school compound to service the students.
